Day 1, Item 1 (of 2):
“Misleading Caregiver Expectations in Each Stage” Cheatsheet

This at-a-glance guide helps you:

  • Stage-by-stage examples show the most common misguided expectations that dementia caregivers have — so you stop expecting logic, independence, or quick acceptance where it won’t stick — leading to fewer fights and smoother days.

  • Clear early / middle / late-stage callouts — so you can match help to actual abilities — reducing burnout and last-minute scrambling.

  • What not to do — so you can do the opposite or avoid the approach altogether, avoiding the wasted time and energy that gets the vast majority of caregivers.

Day 1, Item 2 (of 2):
“Quick Summary of Early, Middle, & Late Stage Dementia” Slide from Zoom

A slide from the workshop that summarizes early, middle, and late stage changes across eating/swallowing, language, daily activities, mobility, and behaviors — so you can quickly pinpoint your person’s stage and what’s realistic right now, making decisions easier.

Assignment & Instructions

Don’t forfeit your results by avoiding the assignment!

The workshop shows you what to do - the results come from actually putting it into practice. If you want to see a difference in your life, the assignments are how you make it happen!

Day 1 Assignment:

  1. What is one expectation that you could give up?

  2. What is one different way of reponding that you’ll try out before our next session?

Once you’ve given the assignement a try, share your experience (good or bad) in the workshop Facebook Group so we can all support you (and celebrate wins together!)

The workshop is only 3 days, but we still have Q&A sessions to support you on Tuesday 9/30 and Wednesday 10/1 (7:30pm ET on Zoom both dauys), so you have until October 1st to complete your assignment and still get feedback / help from Krista and the workshop community on Facebook.

Important Info About Tomorrow + Day 3!

Tonight (Wednesday, Day 2) we cover how to stop the 3 challenging behaviors you’re most likely to run into.

Tomorrow night, Thursday (Day 3) is the ESSENTIAL list of items you must-have when preparing for the future (including legal and medical concerns) - so make sure you don’t miss it!

You’ll want to be there live if possible for Thursday - if that isn’t possible, we have an encore of it on Sunday 9/28 at 2pm US Eastern Time.

If you can join live, you’ll get:

  • Experience/meet other caregivers in breakout rooms.

  • A chance to win prizes.

  • Get your questions answered in real time.
